Marchant Statement on Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy’s Retirement

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Kenny Marchant (R-TX), released the following statement after Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy announced his retirement:

“Justice Kennedy faithfully served the Supreme Court and was a protector of individual liberty for three decades,” said Marchant. “He was swiftly confirmed after his nomination by President Ronald Reagan in 1988 and is one of the longest serving Supreme Court Justices of the modern era. His retirement will allow President Trump to nominate a principled justice who will uphold conservative values and properly interpret our nation’s Constitution and laws.”
