Marchant Statement on Singapore Summit

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Kenny Marchant (R-TX), released the following statement after President Trump and Kim Jong Un concluded their summit:

“American policy towards North Korea has produced very little in the past” said Marchant. “We can’t be distracted by small gestures or accept anything but complete and irreversible denuclearization.”

“While I’m confident in our Administration, we must remain vigilant as North Korea is a cruel regime that has stymied past negotiations. We should continue strong economic pressure until we have a proven commitment of complete denuclearization that keeps our country and people safe. There is a lot of work to be done, but I believe the President has put us on the right path to lasting peace.”
