Marchant Statement on President Trump’s Withdrawal of the Iran Nuclear Deal

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Kenny Marchant (R-TX-24), issued the following statement after the President’s announcement on the Iran Nuclear Deal:

“The Iran nuclear deal was a disastrous agreement that put the United States’ security, the stability of the Middle East, and our ally Israel at risk for too long,” said Marchant.

“Iran is the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism and has been a sworn adversary of our nation for years. By exiting this flawed deal, reinstating permanent sanctions, and hardening restrictions on Iran’s nuclear program, the President today made the security of the United States paramount. The stakes are far too high for the U.S. and our ally Israel to continue any agreement that would allow Iran to further its nuclear ambitions.”
