Terror Attack Spotlights Urgent Need to Strengthen Our Immigration System

Washington – U.S. Congressman Kenny Marchant (TX-24) released this statement following the terror attack in New York City by a radicalized immigrant in America on an F4 Visa:

“The recent terror attack in New York City is the latest example of how the American immigration system fails our citizens and compromises our national security. We must end dangerous chain migration and secure America’s borders to keep our families and communities safe.

“There is legislation I cosponsored in the House that prioritizes public safety and reforms our broken immigration system. The Immigration in the National Interest Act (H.R. 3775), and the Senate companion bill, the RAISE Act (S. 354), is crucial step toward putting American safety and security first. These bills end the diversity lottery, end chain migration and prioritize skills-based migration to grow our economy and create jobs without endangering American citizens.”
