WASHINGTON — U.S. Congressman Kenny Marchant (TX-24) released this statement following the House passage of the Championing Healthy Kids Act. This legislation is a five-year extension of funding for community health programs for children.
“One in four children in Texas’ 24th District relies on the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) to provide health care services they otherwise may not receive,” said Marchant. “To pay for this five-year extension, conservative reforms were implemented to provide quality health care to the most vulnerable members of our communities. I look forward to the Senate swiftly passing the Championing Healthy Kids Act and continuing to provide these valuable services to children in North Texas and throughout our country.”
