Washington — U.S. Congressman Kenny Marchant (TX-24) issued the following statement after cosponsoring and voting in favor of “Micah’s Law,” the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (HR 36):
“This life-saving legislation protects the innocent and most vulnerable among us,” said Marchant. “By voting to no longer permit late-term abortions, my colleagues and I stated loud and clear that if a little baby can feel pain, hear music, or respond to a person’s voice – they should be protected. I was an early cosponsor of this legislation and I’ll continue to be an advocate for those who can’t advocate for themselves.”
Micah’s Law is named after Micah Pickering. After being born at just 22 weeks, Micah is now a healthy young man entering kindergarten.
