Simplifying our tax code will increase business investment, create new jobs, and allow families and individuals to keep more of their hard-earned money
Washington – Following today’s hearing in the Committee on Ways and Means entitled “How Tax Reform Will Grow Our Economy and Create Jobs,” Congressman Kenny Marchant (R-TX) released the following statement:
“Our federal tax code is too long, too complicated, and full of loopholes. Today, my colleagues and I on the Committee on Ways and Means heard from business professionals and experts about the jobs that could be created in our communities and the American workers that would benefit from tax reform.
“In Texas, we know that limited government and lower taxes equals economic prosperity. It’s been three decades since comprehensive tax reform was signed into law. With stagnant wages and economic growth that has flat-lined, the time is now to do the heavy lifting and lower the tax burden on American businesses and families.”
