Marchant Statement on Passage of Obamacare Repeal Resolution

Washington D.C.– U.S. Congressman Kenny Marchant (TX-24) released the following statement on the passage of S. CON. RES. 3:

“Passage of this resolution today delivered on a promise made to North Texas and the American people,” said Marchant. “With my vote today, Congress now has the ability to pass a reconciliation bill, repealing all of the budgetary components of Obamacare after President-Elect Trump assumes office.”

“The current plan to repeal Obamacare utilizes budget reconciliation as a necessary first step and S. CON. RES. 3 is the legislation that begins this long overdue process. The Obamacare death spiral has continued plague Americans with weaker health coverage and exploding premiums. Today, Congress has put America on a path toward making health care truly more affordable. Since 2013, my constituents have dealt with outlandish deductibles and higher premiums. Some have even lost their existing coverage even after promises that they could keep it. I support the repeal of the false-promise that is Obamacare, and advancing patient-centered solutions that help all Americans.”
