Marchant Issues Statement on Passage of the Midnight Rules Relief Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. – November 17, 2016: U.S. Congressman Kenny Marchant (TX-24) issued the following statement after the House passed H.R. 5982, the Midnight Rules Relief Act:

“Today, I voted to block President Obama from issuing new regulations during the final days of his presidency,” said Marchant. “This House-passed legislation curtails these ‘midnight’ regulations that go against the will of the people. In the next few weeks, unelected bureaucrats should not be able to push through rules and orders at the 11th hour. We are indebted to the American people following the election to ensure the Obama Administration cannot further saddle our economy with political regulations. I look forward to enacting sensible regulatory reform under the new administration and during the 115th Congress.”
