Marchant Recognized for Strong Conservative Voting Record

U.S. Congressman Kenny Marchant accepts the American Conservative Union’s “Award for Conservative Excellence” from ACU Chairman Matt Schlapp.
The American Conservative Union on Tuesday honored U.S. Congressman Kenny Marchant (TX-24) with its “Award for Conservative Excellence.” The award recognizes Marchant’s strong conservative voting record during 2015 on legislation supporting constitutionally limited government, individual liberty, and free-market conservatism.
“I’m honored to be recognized by ACU for my efforts to promote constitutional conservatism,” said Marchant upon receiving the award. “This award reflects the strong commitment that my constituents and I share to the principles of individual liberty and limited government. These core conservative values have allowed our nation to overcome many challenges in the past. I believe they are key to overcoming the big-government barriers to prosperity that we face today. Again, I’m grateful to ACU for this recognition and will continue to serve Texas’ 24th District as a dedicated conservative.”
According to ACU’s legislative scorecard, Marchant received a 96% conservative rating during the First Session of the 114th Congress and has 95.12% lifetime rating with the organization – both of which rank among the highest in the House.
