Congressman Marchant Stands Against U.S. Military Intervention in Syria

Congressman Kenny Marchant (TX-24) issued the following statement regarding the Syria resolution:

“I will not vote for U.S. military intervention in Syria. President Obama has not presented Congress enough supporting evidence to overcome my serious reservations about ordering the use of U.S. military forces.

“If the Assad regime did, in fact, use chemical weapons on the Syrian people, it is a serious violation of international law and there must be consequences. We should work together with our international partners to hold Assad accountable, but I want to assure my constituents that I will not vote to use our military in Syria. There are still far too many unanswered questions and unclear objectives.”
