Washington, D.C. – Congressman Kenny Marchant (TX-24) has been selected to Chair the Tax Reform Working Group on Debt, Equity and Capital. Upon his selection, Congressman Marchant issued the following statement:
“The American tax code is outdated and overly complicated. We need to move forward with real tax reform that lowers rates, closes loopholes, and helps strengthen our economy. I look forward to working with my colleagues to explore ways to achieve comprehensive tax reform in 2013.”
The group is one of eleven bipartisan groups established by the House Committee on Ways and Means to inform its work on comprehensive tax reform.
